A mentally derailed elderly man was killed by Indian border security force (BSF) on today. The body of Anwar Hossain was returned to BDR at a flag meeting later in the afternoon.
Family sources of the victim at Nardevpara village in sadar upazila said mentally derailed Anwar sneaked into Indian territory through the Amarkhana border well before the dawn. BSF of Khalpara outpost held him and beat mercilessly to death. Earlier on Wednesday, BSF shot and killed Islam Mia, 38, a farmer of Madhupara village while he was cutting grass in his field close to the border. BDR protested the killing of the innocent farmer and demanded immediate return of his body.
